ghost-plot:

cultureshift:

The sad fact is that 41% of New York City babies are aborted.

The chilling fact is that 59.8% of black New York City babies are aborted.

Only FOUR out of TEN black children make it outside of the womb in New York City.

We must stop the industrialized killing of our unborn children. What legacy will you leave?

The sad fact is that each night, more than 21,000 children are homeless in NYC.

The number of people sleeping in shelters has grown 60 percent in the past decade.

Families make up 3/4ths of the homeless population.

53% of the homeless in shelters are black, 32% are Latino.

65.5 percent of high school seniors graduate in NYC.

There are currently 12,568 children in foster care in NYC.

In 2011, there were over 90,000 separate reports of abuse/neglect in NYC.

There are 131 children in secure detention. 112 in non-secure detention.

There are more than 108,000 children in NYC who have a parent that is incarcerated. More than 73 percent of women who are incarcerated have a child under the age of 18.

But go ahead and try to explain how you care about children. Just try to justify how you can ignore all of these children, for a fetus.

Forcing people to stay pregnant does nothing for children. Advocate for better sex education. Fight to help PoC who find themselves with unwanted pregnancies. Don’t ignore the fact that nearly 90 percent of pregnancies that end in abortion for PoC were unplanned, use this information to help them.

My legacy is one of respect, understanding, education, and compassion. You’ll catch on eventually.

A simple text illustration describing pro-life vs pro-choice

Right. Riight. Except for the life of the pregnant person. Or the life of the children they might already have thinly spread resources to care for. Or the life of the fetus you save after it’s born and its rights to be fed, clothed, housed, and schooled. Or the rights of that fetus should it later turn out to be queer or disabled.

Just in case you missed the memo, pregnant people also have heartbeats. We people who can get pregnant are people too. Fully developed people with rights. I mean, even corpses have more bodily autonomy than we do in this society. You need consent to legally harvest organs from a corpse. You don’t, apparently, need to consent to having all your organs used for about ten months at a time.

comicist submission assholes in the submission box

Justify it as you wish, saying it’s “just a clump of cells”, a “parasite”.  However, it’s hard to deny that the embryo or fetus is indeed a human life, just less developed, less mature, and fighting to grow and live.  It is both an independent entity from the mother with a life & brain of its own … and yet at the same time it does need the mother to live.  It didn’t invade the mother like some parasite seeking a host, but it came to life inside the mother.  While it came to life inside the mother, should the mother really be able to own this human life - to kill & dispose of it as she wills?  Obviously, our society answers that with a “yes”.

Oh my god, did you actually put this into my submission box?

It’s not about whether it’s “just a clump of cells” or not. I don’t care if it’s a fully developed adult in there—nothing has the right to use someone’s body without their consent. If it’s in my body, if it depends wholly on my body to survive, it’s not independent from my body.

And just, wow. The nerve of you to put this filth into my submission box. Hang on, followers, there’s actually more to come from this guy.

please read my theory on what an abortion is

Hi, can you please read my theory on what an abortion is. It is from a different view point than either pro life or pro choice - www.ethicsandabortion.com Thanks.

MOD ADDITION:

There are only three types of women when looking at the abortion issue.

1. Women who are not pregnant.
2. Women who are pregnant and have an abortion.
3. Women who are pregnant and do not have an abortion.

There are no other type of women than these three.

… I hate you.

I'm disappointed because I thought this was a pro-life blog. Are not all members of the human species considered "human persons"? What is a living human being that is not also a human person considered to be? Are blacks non-persons? Are Jews non-persons?

What? How could you possibly think we’d use the word “propaganda” in a positive context? This blog hasn’t been active for a while, but the entire purpose of it is to call out PROPAGANDA—that is, falsehoods and fallacies—from the anti-choice side of the fence. Hardly anyone in history has actually assumed positivity from the word “propaganda.” I mean, what were you really expecting?

Second off, no. Nothing is comparable to abortion. Racism is not. Anti-semitism is not. And when we’re talking about genocide, it generally involves sentient beings who are physiologically autonomous and fetuses belonging to parents who wanted to birth the child. Now, I’m Jewish here, so you really need to shut the fuck up about anti-semitism. To quote Holocaust survivor Elie Wiesel, “Those who compare abortion to the Holocaust do not know what the Holocaust was.”

Thirdly, it doesn’t matter whether the fetus is a person or not. It’s a largely philosophical argument that has no relevance here. You know who’s definitely a person? THE ONE WHO’S PREGNANT, WHOM YOU NEVER SEEM TO CONSIDER. No one and nothing has the right to use a person’s body without their consent—not a man, not a woman, not an unborn fetus or embryo. And don’t you dare start lecturing me about consent; I’m a sexual assault survivor, so I know that well enough already, thank you very much.

Wait, adoption being a loving option is a pro-life theme? I thought it was advocating adopting children over giving birth. God, I am so disappointed in the message now.

Mhmm. I would get an abortion now if I had to because I love myself and my future children enough to wait until I can care for them well. God, I hate anti-choicers so much.
