also, for the person with herpes-- if you get an STI test, you aren't automatically tested for herpes. 1.) because the test will come back negative unless you're currently having an outbreak/shedding and 2.) something like 1 out of 4 people already have some form of it (meaning they've had a cold sore at some point in their life, etc.), so to doctors it really isn't a big thing. and most importantly--it's really no big deal!
