Today I Learned that the Bible quote antis frequently use, “Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you” is taken very much out of context.

Let me take this apart in bullet points.

• Beginning with multiple Bible quotes (“For in Him we live and move and have our being.” Acts 17:28; “Know that the Lord is God. It is He that MADE us.” Psalm 100:3, etc.) is a fantastic way to convince the non-religious that you are correct. That, and it is completely relevant to this debate about a medical procedure. Quoting The Iliad for an opinion on the matter here would be just as logical.
• Yeah, this is all religious propaganda. In case you didn’t pick up on my sarcasm up there, The Bible, The Quran, The Torah and Talmud, the Kama Sutra, The Dharma, and any other holy book are just as relevant to this discussion as are The Iliad, The Odyssey, The Divine Comedy, and The Egyptian Book of the Dead. That is to say, not in any way, shape, or form. We’re talking about a medical procedure. I’m pretty sure today’s doctors’ opinions on the matter are slightly more informed than those of ancient cave dwellers who thought every species on earth lived within walking distance of Noah’s house.
  
  I’m not going to talk about this video’s religious points anymore, as it’s pointless to do so. Let’s see if you try any science in the next five minutes. Using any religious text to justify your opinion on anything other than religion is completely non-scientific.
• No one is “pro-abortion.” It’s called pro-CHOICE because we think the option should be available, not that we think every pregnancy should end in abortion. But here you are trying science, so maybe I’m not completely wasting my time here. Sure, you are right about one thing: a fetus is a human life, and abortion necessarily kills it. However, a fetus is not a human being until it is physically autonomous, e.g. when it is born. Think about it: your gravestone will have your date of birth on it, not your date of conception.
• “THAT IS A HUGE LIE!!!” Please learn how to punctuate properly. It hurts my poor eyes.
• You know what else hurts my eyes? All these baby pictures. A baby is not a fetus, and a fetus is not a baby. A fetus becomes a “baby”, in an emotional sense, at least, when its biological mother says it does (or when it’s born; whichever comes first). Using photos of infants here is dishonest propaganda intended to guilt-trip. Please stop that.
• “There is an overwhelming consensus among scientists that human life begins at conception!” The video then proceeds to cite maybe five, ten psuedo-scientists as if they represent the majority of all scientists. That’s not how scientific polling works, dears. Try again. More on this in a moment.
• Just because “Conception marks the initiation of a life of a new individual” does not mean the “individual” in question is a person yet. Its genes are still forming at this point, as well, so it isn’t even genetically distinct yet. This textbook, “Human Embryology” by Dr. Bradley Patten, is also 42 years old, so there may be newer and more reliable information out there which you happen to be conveniently ignoring.
• Ugh, stop quoting the goddamn Bible already. It’s old, and I’ve already explained why it’s stupid.
• Keith Moore runs a completely partisan organization called Moore Life Ministries. I’m disinclined to believe about 100% of what he says about science after that quick Googling. No, a zygote is NOT a human being. Get it right.
• For the umpteenth time, fetus =/= baby. For the purpose of science, it was not “made in the image of God”, and it’s only “precious” if the mother thinks it is. And again, being human does not make one a human being.
• You keep citing pseudo-scientists. Now you’ve moved on to J. P. Greenhill, who has no publications in any proper scientific journal that I can see. His bibliography according to Amazon includes a book from the early 70s about “the miracle of life.” That is not science.
  
  The second one you cite here, E. A. Friedman, is not much better. I can find absolutely zero proper scientific publications from him. Every “scientist” you’ve cited so far is at best a pseudo-scientist.
  
  The next one, Louis Fridhandler (Google corrected the spelling of his surname), is a Rabbi. At least you’re not using all Christian sources now, but he is also not a scientist. No scientist would write “wondrous moment” in a medical textbook. He, too, has zero proper scientific publications that I can find.
  
  A Googling of the name “E. L. Potter” revealed a bunch of Harry Potter related things in Spanish. Since I can’t find any proper scientific publications from this one, either, I can only conclude that he/she, too, is not a proper scientist.
  
  All this Alfred Bongioanni seems to do is Tweet about abortion and evolution. Twitter is not a scientific journal, suffice to say.
  
  The only “consensus” you seem to be getting at is one among pseudo-scientists with no qualifications. This is how science works, and I’m not sorry for informing you of this. None of these people is an “expert” of any kind.
• No, that photo at 4:52 is NOT a “baby happy in it’s [sic] mother’s womb”. It’s not a baby, but a fetus, and it cannot feel emotion of any kind until very late into gestation. By the looks of this one, it may be at that point, which means that elective abortion would be illegal.
• If you’re going to keep bringing God into the equation, God does not view abortion “with abhorrence”. Your “pro-life” Yahweh kills and rapes on many occasions, and is often gladdened by his followers’ willingness to do so. It is all in The Bible.

Why is it that you can never seem to get through an argument without going into spiritual mumbo-jumbo? Especially you Christian ones. For Christ’s sake, Jesus had no opinions on the subject in the Bible. It might help if you read the thing.

Speaking of reading the Bible, there are also convincing arguments that Yahweh is not pro-life. He advocates the murder of children, and murder in general, on many occasions in your holy book.
