This needs to stop. Women don’t take the decision to get an abortion lightly, and Congress (83.2% male) is treating us like children.

What I consider one of the most vile and indefensible arguments that anti-choicers tend to use in defense of their attempts to control a woman’s reproductive processes is what you see above.
“Life is precious.”
Do they even know what life is? Are the only things that qualify as a “life” human beings? Or, potential human beings for that matter?
Why aren’t they defending the countless genocides of bacteria they are guilty of every time they have taken antibiotics? Bacteria is life.
Why aren’t they vegans who abhorr the slaughter of animals that can feel pain for our consumption? Cows, pigs, chickens, and fish are life.
Why don’t they stand on the streets protesting deforestation? Trees and vegetation is life, and deforestation displaces and kills off countless numbers of organisms and species.
Why don’t I hear them speaking out against poaching and whaling? Elephants, the Great Apes, and cetaceans have cognitive abilities that almost match our own, and certainly are capable of a lot more than a human fetus.
Why do many of them continue to deny that global warming is a problem, which is a threat to all life on Earth?
Why do they insist on calling themselves pro-life when they are NOT? They are pro-fetus. They are pro-birth. They are anti-choice and anti-woman. They care more about a developing clump of tissue that has no cognitive or neural capabilities whatsoever than a thinking, feeling, frightened woman. They are not pro-life, they are irrational and detestable.
The even more disgusting aspect of it all is that most anti-choicers are conservatives.
Conservatives laugh in the faces of vegans and vegetarians, and place human life above all other life. Conservatives would rather build businesses on deforested land than save a forest. Conservatives tend to be loudly critical of scientists’ global warming claims, probably not because they’re actually skeptical of the science behind it, but so they can continue to fuck the planet to the point of no return. This is common of conservatives, and on top of it all, they call themselves “pro-life.”
And the non-political anti-choicers are too gullible to emotional manipulation and propaganda to realize that the politicians are just trying to keep their patriarchy, not to mention have the votes of single-issue voters.
The “pro-life” movement demeans both human life and all other life on Earth. It is exactly the opposite of what it claims to be.
